I don’t normally post development shots on the site, but thought I’d break the rule with some screenshots from a third person game that I’ve been working on in Unity3D. At present the art is looking fairly accurate but I’m not currently happy with the HUD and this needs more work and refinement. I would appreciate any feedback you want to give me, I can’t say too much about the game just yet except it probably fits into the survival horror genre.

Hey Mark, this game looks interesting. I reckon experimenting with symbols instead of text. I say this because I always find that the user needs to make the extra effort in reading text that has been rotated. A symbol may be a clearer and more effective way of informing your user.
Perhaps you could only display the HUD items when they are active. I.E when you use fuel, the fuel gage becomes visible. When you get damaged, the health bar shows and when health is really low it always shows.
Keep up the good work.
Hi Mark, bald men of the meta verse unite! – regarding your Hud the above post is stop on and there seems to be an emerging logo/symbol at the top of the screen (hexagon?) could that be developed to form a hud? and get rid of the vertical and horizontal elements which are also eye catching in a bad way.
your tutorials (unity) are great btw and I am working my way though them – Thanks
