Recently I’ve been playing with the very easy to use ‘Oridomi’ library. After seeing the excellent Humblebee site, I wanted to explore a similar style of unfolding menu. I obviously didn’t want to copy it right off the bat but draw inspiration from it and create something in the same vein. I was struggling to get all of the CSS effects to work properly and then I stumbled on Oridomi which can be used with or without jQuery. This made the unfolding part of the menu work pretty much right off. Adding some customized CSS for rotating and sliding and the project was complete.

Oridomi doesn’t work too well with Firefox which is a shame, but that might change in the future. I also added some folding images as it was so easy to apply. The whole thing was written up as a tutorial for Web Designer magazine.
